Port Calls
The Port Call is the central hub for all activities related to a vessel's visit. It aggregates comms, service orders, documents, and the Statement of Facts (SOF) into a single, immutable timeline.
Creating Port Calls
To register a new port call:
- Navigate to the Operations dashboard.
- Click the New Port Call button.
- Select the Vessel (or add a new one by IMO number).
- Set the Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA).
- Provide a Voyage Reference to link financial documents.
Managing Status
A port call progresses through a standard operational lifecycle. Updating the status broadcasts real-time changes to the Vessel Operator and assigned Vendors.
Draft
The call is being planned; vendors cannot yet see it.
In Port
The vessel has arrived (ATA recorded). Active operations commence.
Sailed
The vessel has departed (ATD recorded). Post-fixture documentation begins.
Vessel Assignment
PortTask integrates with live AIS data to automatically update the ETA and ATA based on the assigned Vessel's IMO number. Ensure the vessel identity is verified to enable these automated updates.
